Imagine a dark bar with Prince and Beck conversing over cider, as Frank Zappa and Jack Johnson are taking bets in the corner, and dirty electro is playing on the jukebox in the background. You've got the Jimmy The Fingers sound. Jimmy The Fingers writes about life as he sees it; a joyous and just plain silly occasion, marred only by the wonders of temptation and the melancholy. His musical stylings ever changing, he's always one step ahead of the kids.
In his youth Jimmy busted out tunes under the monikers Superdense Child and Zooface, and as a DJ has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Afrika Bambaata, Radio One's Breezeblock show, Rahzel, Krafty Kuts, The Herbaliser, Fatboy Slim, and Bonobo. He played keys in bands with Quantic, TM Juke, and Alice Russell from blossoming Brighton label Tru Thoughts. Then he found out he could sing, so he struck out on his own. Nowadays he works live with Kaoss Pads, synths and a cape.
After a request to listen to a song for possible play on his radio show, Three Sixty Records label don Graham Shrimpton (AKA Darkhorse) worked with Jimmy producing and mixing the album over the course of a year and half. The songs were recorded in Jimmy's flat in Bristol, then sent to Graham in San Francisco for mixing, with other Three Sixty friends helping out adding keys and guitars when needed. Now the full album, I'm Only Breathing, is being released globally on Three Sixty Records, the much-loved, classic San Francisco label known for introducing the USA to artists such as Tim "Love" Lee, The Runaways UK, and Organic Audio. - 8DPROMO
