Chris Coco is transfering the art of compiling to another level. ‘’Lazy Summer 2’’ is simply one of the best compilations of the year. The way he is approaching and sequencing the styles of music, the mood and the rhythm is remarkable. As a balearic and not only dj personality, discovered him in the late ninities when compiled and mixed the IRMA compilation ‘’Beach Grooves’’, he is a real legend of this filed of music like Phil Mison and Jose Padilla. His musical spirit ih his music selections and production has the missing line between the balearic breeze and real good sound of United Kindom music, that is so clear in ‘’Lazy Summer 2’’. It is real good when you got in your hands a compilation with music that you don’t know, even from the past, even from nowadays. This second chapter was the reason to discover a balearic classic that didn’t know, Harpers Bizarre’s ‘’Witchi Tai To’’ and Al Steward’s ‘’The Year Of The Cat’’ was too. Steffi’s ‘’You Own My Mind’’ is one of the tracks that didn’t know, heard here and I like too much too. I lost in the downtempo beats and pieces of Scuba’s ‘’Before’’, Falty DL’s ‘’Endeavour’’ – really sick with this one - trip tek voodoo synth jazz drug and Letherette’s ‘’Cherryade’’. Fall in love with Poolside’s ‘’Do You Believe’’ rhythm, synths and cool and lazy ‘’cruel summer’’ mood and psheudo acidic experience, surely my highlight of the compilation and one of the best tracks that heard this year. Feel lazy too, with the dubby Normalites ‘’More To Comefeel’’ and at once that I’m back in ealry ninities with the lyrical ‘’Golden Light’’ by Cultural Attaches, the last one is so wonderful, so chilled, so summer, so winter, so radio, so day, so night, so everyrthing, its horn take me to paradise. Supriced with Sterling Void’s ‘’It’s Alright’’ ballad like cover by Hercules & Love Affair. At last not forget to mention one of the most people like producers of our times, Paul Kalkbrenner who is opening the compilation with ‘’Plastcher’’.
