DM 06 Nova Planet 10 Years Anniversarry EP Compiled By DJ Nova (P) & © 2014 (Digest Music/ME)

 

The Nova Planet Radio Show EP wasn't something planned. Actually, DJ Nova wanted to stop broadcasting his radio show, he felt that 10 years were enough, a large chapter of his life had finished, and an important circle was complete. The idea of the EP surfaced when Tomaz aka LoopMaffia offered to record a track for Nova as a way of thanking him for his support. Vista Le Vie did it first, had already created an exclusive track for Nova Planet back in 2003 when the show first started! It was appropriately called "Midnight Track" because Nova Planet used to air 11p to 1am. Motivated by Tom's request for a new exclusive track, Nova decided to continue his show and to compile a special EP with tracks made for the 10 year anniversary. Choosing the other artists for this release was no easy task because Nova's goal was to capture the music vibe of the moment. Hip-hop soul beat maker LoopMaffia had already sent the late night "Happy Days" probably his jazzier work to date. For the next track Nova sought out Mister T, a prolific Greek producer with releases on US Cold Busted, who has been a key DJ in the show's history because he was the one spinning at a beach bar in Greece when Nova was offered his first radio slot at Rodon FM 95. Following Nova's request, Mister T got in the studio and came out a few days later with the outstanding and Nova-compatible "Nova Style", a joyful mix of warm nu-jazz, sunshine breaks and Brazilian funk grooves. The track was an instant success and has already been remixed by numerous of Nova's favorite producers responding to his remix competition. The package will be released as two remixed EPs on US Kapa Music. For the anniversary EP's third slot Nova chose Elpierro’s "How I Feel", a slightly older track (the only one not written exclusively for the EP) that was track of the month on Nova Planet in Spring 2013. This deep and jazzy let’s-call-it-house track was one the beat advance promos that Nova had the pleasure to receive in 2013. "Super Nova" the track that is closing the EP carries Echolocation’s beautiful signature sound. Their debut album on Peacelounge Recordings a year earlier was DJ Nova’s favorite 2012 album. Including an Echolocation track in the EP was very high on Nova's wish list!
