Pacific Coliseum - Blue Universe (Cassette) 2019
◉ It's already two years since Jamison Isaak's project released ''Ocean City'' (which it was the best cassette album of 2017 here) and he is not come back with just another album. Pacific Coliseum's ''Blue Universe'' should and will hyper-antagonize ''Ocean City'' debut. It has a wider, i can say even global point of view and starts its micro-journey after relaxing in a ''Hotel'' that reminds his previous album, especially when the warm keys and the bassline appears. ''Cloud Jam'' next, it follows the tradition of his debut album same titled uptempo moment but its deep percussive techno-sterone this time is taking the avantage to offer absolutely the one and only 'frantic' piece of its universe. Moving as rapidly as a reptile ''Blue Universe'' surprising us with a visit in Bali as ''In Ubud'' wander in its streets and continues with the aquatic and languid ambient of ''Ridge Walk'' that take us to the avant-garde electronic sound of A Reminiscent Drive. On the B Side ''Sunset Melody'' twin brother ''To Los Angeles'' is another Gaussian Curve ode that this time served on a beautiful new age and smooth jazz steretype hybrid of ambience. The mesmerizing ambient-jazz of the soft percussive ''Flutes'' is typical Pacific Coliseum tune, shape on a White Island's older Real Ibiza shape sounds even like a downtempo remix of an Italian dream house tune of the past. Synthetic naturalism of ''Sunset'' is the acme of sundowners Balearic bliss as its ambent and electronic motifs are covering everything from the early chill out, the Blank & Jones RELAX-ology to today's minimal ambient revival eclecticism. ''Hanoman'' is coming next for just two minutes but it is ''Home'' that is coming next and is running out the release, the most extended part of the moment...
